Tesco opens in Cherrywood

4 Dec , 2023

Tesco Ireland has opened the doors of a new Tesco Express store at Cherrywood, South Dublin. Managed by Dónal Fitzgerald, at just over 3,000 square foot and conveniently located close to the Cherrywood/Bride’s Glen Luas stop, the new store promises customers a modern retail experience and a wide selection of quality fresh and Irish produce.

Geoff Byrne, Chief Operating Officer, Tesco Ireland said: “We’re very excited to open the doors of our latest Dublin store, in Ireland’s newest town, Cherrywood. We’re looking forward to getting to know our neighbours in this new community, which is set to become the largest urban development in the country.”

Tesco is a proud supporter of the communities it serves. To date its Community Fund has helped support thousands of organisations across the country from GAA clubs to children’s charities. In its first campaign the Cherrywood store will support the locality with donations to local causes which include Cabinteely GAA, Cherrywood Educate Together National School, and Loughlinstown Community Rooms.

Dónal Fitzgerald, Store Manager, Cherrywood said: “This is a very exciting day for the team and I. We’ve been working very hard behind the scenes for the past few weeks to ensure that the store will offer the best possible experience, and welcome, for our customers.”

Through the food surplus redistribution programme, FoodCloud partners and OLIO Food Waste Heroes will be on hand to ensure no good food goes to waste. The Cherrywood team will also join Tesco’s continued efforts to support its charity partner, Children’s Health Foundation which supports all sick children in CHI at Crumlin, Connolly, Temple St, and Tallaght hospitals.

The retailer recently rolled out its Clubcard Prices offering to Express format stores, which is proving to be popular with convenience customers. Through Clubcard, of which there are over one million members, customers have access to exclusive deals on everything from everyday staples to treats, while also being rewarded with Clubcard points.
