Lee’s Centra Ballyneety unveils major store revamp

1 Sep, 2026

Lee’s Centra Ballyneety has completed a major refurbishment of its store, transforming the premises into a modern forecourt and convenience retail destination while doubling its workforce to 22 employees.

The Lee family took over the Ballyneety store in March and has since carried out an extensive redevelopment of the site, with the premises stripped back to its bare walls before undergoing a complete refurbishment.

The investment has resulted in a significantly upgraded food and convenience offering, alongside improvements aimed at enhancing the overall customer experience.

Among the additions are Centra’s new Sushi Circle and Poke Bowl range, Clean-Cut Meals and an expanded deli offering.

Customers can also avail of freshly produced goods from Lee’s Bakery, which are made daily by the Lee Group bakery team in Charleville, along with Frank and Honest coffee.

The refurbishment has also included the installation of energy-efficient refrigeration and lighting throughout the store.

As well as upgrading the premises, the Lee family has increased employment at the Ballyneety store, with the number of staff doubling to 22 since the takeover.

Ray and Brendan Lee, together with the wider Lee family and store team, recently marked the completion of the redevelopment with an official reopening and family fun day.

Customers from the local community attended the event, with a number of Limerick hurling stars also joining the celebrations to mark the reopening of the revamped store.
